Delicious – Yummy Yummy

So I’m really getting into this delicious website. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you can look up my delicious page – or just check out my latest additions on the blog.

In today’s day and age when so much information is being thrown at us it’s virtually impossible to read it all – so along comes delicious with a really clever way of storing and tagging. The problem as you can imagine is like those of us who manage to accumulate many books – just because you have them doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve read them.

How many Adrian’s are out there?

I don’t know Adrian. Well that’s actually not quite true. I think I’ve seen him a couple of times at a CAJE conference (that’s CAJE, not the new CAJE) and we’ve traded a few blog comments and tweets now and then.

But this blog post from him really moved me and pushes me to ask the question – How many Adrian’s are out there?

I Come From a Land Down Under

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to meet with a group of talented Jewish-Australian (or is it Australian-Jewish?) students leaders in New York on the AUJS Leadership Development Program (LDP). Full disclosure before I continue – I was a madrich on AUJS LDP a few years ago (ok, quite a few years ago). The group had spent some time in Washington D.C., was just starting a few days in the Big Apple, before heading off to Amsterdam and then Israel.

The discussion began by looking at some of the characteristics that define the Australian Jewish community. Orthodox (and some Conservative and Reform), Anti-Semitism, Israel, Holocaust, Jewish Dayschools, South Africans, Russians, youth movements – were some of the terms they generated.

The list about American Jewry was a bit less interesting, a bit less informed (as expected) and a bit more stereotypical – but that is hardly the point.
