How many Adrian’s are out there?

I don’t know Adrian. Well that’s actually not quite true. I think I’ve seen him a couple of times at a CAJE conference (that’s CAJE, not the new CAJE) and we’ve traded a few blog comments and tweets now and then.

But this blog post from him really moved me and pushes me to ask the question – How many Adrian’s are out there?

To be honest I don’t really know if Adrian is a great, good or otherwise Jewish educator. I do know he is committed, passionate, enthusiastic and willing to do his utmost to serve the Jewish people – from what it seems to be in many of his various talents.

What I do know is that Jewish education often lacks this passion and reading Adrian’s heartfelt words is something that we all need to be taking heed of.

How many Adrian’s are out there? How many people like him are we turning our backs on? When will we, the Jewish people, learn that our greatest asset are our people?

Yo Adrian, and all of you potential Jewish educators and Jewish communal professionals out there – don’t lose that spirit!
